St. Christopher (after Durer + Doghead)

St. Christopher (patron Saint of Travellers and Lifeguards) was often depicted with the head of a Dog (Cynocephalus) and was about as tall as Andre the Giant in early Eastern Orthodox art; this image of St. Christopher is based on a woodcut by Albrecht Dürer, presumably drawn after the Christ Child changed St. Christopher's head into that of a mans. That might make a nice narrative illustration, the infant Jesus turning a Dog-Headed Giant into an Athlete of God.

Drawn for my Pamp, Ron Coltman on his 80th birthday.
